Stan Ivens - President

Stan is pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Engineering: Finance at Ghent University. While he has broad interests within finance, his primary focus is on Investment Banking, Private Equity and Financial Markets.

Leonard Desmet - Vice President

Leonard is a bachelor’s student in Business Engineering at Ghent University. His interests lie in financial markets, real estate and sports.

Søren Coens - Corporate Relations

Søren is currently in his third year of his bachelor’s degree Business Administration. By joining Capitant he wants to deepen his understanding of the industry while connecting with like-minded individuals. On top of this, he is also interested in rising markets, corporate finance, and exploring areas such as private equity and venture capital.

Nicolas Peeters - Corporate Relations

I am Nicolas Peeters, a commercial engineering student with a master’s degree in Operations Management. The reason why I became a board member at Capitant is because besides an interest in operations I have always been very interested in Finance.

Melisa Gucenmez - Treasury

Melisa is a master’s student in Law at Ghent University. She is interested in Banking & Finance.

Armin Abbaspour Tehrani - Career

I am currently pursuing a master’s in Business Engineering at Ghent University. My interests include fundamental analysis, financial markets, and macro-economics.

Bo Panen - Career

Bo is a master’s student in Law at Ghent University. His interests are very broad and include capital markets, banking, asset management and M&A.

Thibault Mertens - Marketing

Thibault Mertens is a third-year Bachelor’s student in Business Engineering, with a profound interest in finance and macroeconomics. Furthermore, he is passionate about everything that has to do with the automotive industry, including technology and racing competitions.

Paulo Royemans - Marketing

Paulo is a master’s student in Business Engineering: Finance at Ghent University. His interests include corporate finance, the stock market, and cycling.

Jens Borghgraef - Marketing

Jens is a master’s student in Business Engineering with a specialization in Finance. Interested in a diverse range of subjects, with a specific focus on financial markets, financial analysis and fintech applications.

Mathis Deraedt - Marketing

My name is Mathis Deraedt, and I am the Marketing Board Member at Capitant Gent for the 2024-2025 academic year. I’m currently in my third year of Business Economics. Outside of student life, I enjoy traveling, meeting up with friends, and staying active. I’m really excited to work with our team to get students enthusiastic about the financial world.
