Keanu Simons - President
Keanu is currently pursuing his first year of a Master’s degree in Digital Business Engineering. Where he concentrates on Private Equity, Investment Banking, Mergers and Acquisitions and the stock market. His academic interests are complemented by a passion for sports. He enjoys hitting the gym and going for runs to stay active. In his spare time, Keanu immerses himself in reading books on personal finance and psychology, which enrich his understanding of both financial systems and human behaviour. He also loves planning his next adventure abroad, reflecting his enthusiasm for travel and exploration.
Koen Bastijns - Vice President
Koen is currently in his first year of a master’s degree in Financial Engineering, with a keen interest in Private Equity and Investment Banking. Beyond his academic pursuits, Koen is passionate about fitness, travelling, and investing. He also enjoys guiding youth camps with Kazou. On top of that, he plays the clarinet and has a remarkable love for pizza. His diverse interests and active lifestyle show his potential to balance professional ambitions with personal passions.
Nathan Vandenhaute - Treasury
Nathan is currently in the third year of his Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics. He is passionate about investment management, with a particular interest in private equity. He likes to stay active by skiing, playing football and running. Nathan constantly aims to expand his knowledge of finance while maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
Matties De Frenne - Career
Matties is currently in his second year of a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering, with a strong focus on Corporate Finance and Quantitative Finance. Outside of his academic interests, he practices Jiu-Jitsu and enjoys playing basketball. Matties has also gained valuable experience through a three-month M&A internship at PwC Deals Advisory in their Corporate Finance team in Brussels. His dedication to both his studies and extracurricular activities highlights his commitment to excelling in finance while maintaining an active lifestyle.
Mathias De Bruyn - Corporate Relations
Mathias is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Digital Business Engineering. He is very interested in Investment Banking and Asset Management. Outside his studies, he enjoys playing tennis and cycling. Mathias values his social contacts and often spends time with friends, whether it is catching up or having a nice evening together. Besides his academic work, he is gaining practical experience at Atlas Copco as a Young Talent, where he contributes to the roll-out of SAP. His dedication to both his education and professional development highlights his ability to balance personal interests with career ambitions.
Mansour Farhi - Corporate Relations
Mansour is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Applied Economic Sciences, with a keen interest in various areas of finance including Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity, Investment Banking, Venture Capital and Asset Management. Outside his academic focus, Mansour is passionate about football, which he enjoys both playing and watching.
Sophie Demeersman - Marketing
Sophie is in her first year of a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering, with a keen interest in Corporate Finance and Private Equity. Outside of her academic pursuits, she enjoys playing tennis, shopping and travelling. Sophie values spending quality time with friends and often meets up with them for various activities.
Hanne Verhasselt - Marketing
Hanne is currently combining her third year of a bachelor’s degree in Applied Science and Business Administration with a master’s degree in the same field. She is eager to expand her financial knowledge and combine it with the creative. Outside of her studies, Hanne has a passion for dancing and skiing. When she is not busy with schoolwork, you can often find her enjoying a cup of coffee with friends or relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine in a cosy café. She also loves travelling, with a fondness for city trips.
Jolien Bastijns - Marketing
Jolien is currently pursuing her first year of a Master’s in Financial Engineering. She has a strong interest in Corporate Finance, Portfolio Management and Behavioral Finance. She has a deep passion for these areas and is determined to expand her expertise. Outside her studies, Jolien loves travelling and going out to eat – food is truly her life. She also values socializing and regularly meets up with friends. As well as attending concerts and leading youth camps with Kazou. She is a fan of Italian cuisine and is especially addicted to pasta and tiramisu. Moreover, she is also always up for a fun night of karaoke.
Laura Driessens - Marketing
Laura is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Economics, Law and Business in Leuven, with a specialization in Finance and Financial Law. This builds on her previous Master’s in Applied Economics, where she specialized in Finance and International Business. She has a strong passion for corporate finance, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, as well as asset management. Raised with the motto “work hard, play hard”, Laura balances her academic life with social activities. After classes and schoolwork, you will likely find her enjoying time with her friends or family, whether it is over a coffee, a glass of wine, or during a night out. She has a passion for traveling, little getaways, attending concerts, and brunching with her friends.
Lara Vandeputte - Marketing
Lara is currently in her second year of a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering within Business Engineering. She is eager to deepen her knowledge of finance and continually seeks to expand her understanding of the field. Outside of her studies, Lara enjoys running, finding it a great way to stay active and clear her mind.
Liam Adams - Projects
Liam is in his third year of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Engineering, with a strong interest in Investment Banking, Private Equity and Venture Capital. Outside his academic pursuits, Liam is passionate about baseball, running, music and investing. He enjoys staying active and is always looking for opportunities to expand his knowledge of finance while balancing his hobbies. Whether he’s on the field, going for a run, or exploring new music, Liam brings the same energy and enthusiasm to everything he does.
François Ferreira - Projects
Francois is in the first half of his Master’s in Business Engineering. He is particularly passionate about mergers and acquisitions. Besides Capitant, Francois has a passion for football. He has been a part of the marketing team in Antwerp for the past year and is excited to continue his Capitant career.
