The Apheon Brussels office is currently recruiting an intern to support the Benelux Investment Team in its daily activities. The firm is offering a 4-month internship position, with compensation based on the candidate’s profile
Role Description
As part of a pan-European investment team of around thirty investment professionals based in Brussels, Paris, Munich, Milan, Madrid, and Amsterdam, the intern will support and assist the Benelux Investment Team (based in Brussels) from the evaluation of opportunities through to the execution of transactions.
Responsibilities include:
Assessing new investment opportunities at an early stage (market research and analysis, company screening, valuation, expert calls, etc.)
Contributing to the drafting of investment memos (in English) for pre-investment and investment committees (business and market analysis, financial review, valuation), and supporting the due diligence process (financial, strategic, ESG)
Preparing and presenting financial models and analyses
Assisting investment teams in monitoring portfolio companies (add-on acquisitions, market analysis, internal and external reporting)
Supporting the team in cross-functional tasks (marketing presentations, process optimization tools, market intelligence)
Education and Experience
Apheon is looking for an intern with a strong academic background (Master’s degree in economics, finance, or engineering) and a first significant internship experience, ideally within an investment bank, strategy consulting firm, or private equity fund.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial models, as well as excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Fluency in English is essential to succeed in a demanding international environment.
The successful candidate should have the following skills:
Strong knowledge of financial models
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Native Dutch and fluency in English (both written and spoken), with French considered a plus
