Maarten Janssens - President
Maarten is a third-year student of Applied Economic Sciences at the University of Antwerp, with a broad interest in private equity, corporate finance, real estate finance and long-term value investing. As President of Capitant Antwerpen, he leads the board, shapes the strategic direction and builds partnerships with financial institutions, all to give students a genuine connection to the sector. He finds the most satisfaction in bringing people together, turning ideas into concrete projects and watching members grow through the network Capitant provides. Outside of Capitant, he stays active through tennis, padel, golf and running, enjoys discovering new places, and, of course, follows the financial markets closely.
Maxim Nelen - Vice-President
Maxim is in his final year of a professional Bachelor’s degree in International Entrepreneurship. Having previously served as Board Member Corporate Relations, he now takes on the position of Vice-President. Within this role, he aims to build a fun and efficient team and organize events that truly stand out. He has a strong interest in Corporate Finance, consulting, and the stock market, areas where he hopes to make a meaningful impact. Beyond his academic pursuits, Maxim stays active with fitness, running, and cycling.
Samir Van Mellaert - Corporate Relations - Head of D&I
Samir is a third-year Business Economics student at the University of Antwerp, with a passion for M&A, private equity and private markets, and a particular interest in private banking thanks to his love of working closely with partners. As Senior Corporate Relations and Head of D&I at Capitant, he keeps the association connected to its partners and works to make finance accessible to everyone, finding the most satisfaction when that translates into real opportunities for students. Outside of Capitant, you’ll find Samir out for a run, at the gym, or behind the piano.
Jasper Cavens - Corporate Relations
Jasper is a first-year Master’s student in Financial Engineering at the University of Antwerp. His interests lie in investment banking, especially M&A. As Board Member of Corporate Relations, he builds and maintains Capitant’s partnerships with financial companies, from the first conversation to the final event agreement. He loves that the role keeps him involved in every corner of what Capitant does. Outside of Capitant, he hunts for hidden restaurant gems (Chinese food being a favourite), runs to balance things out, and is a regular at the movies.
Sasha Hnain - Corporate Relations
Sasha is someone who has lived in four different countries and developed a broad curiosity for the world around her, with interests ranging from finance and international relations to history and design. She found her way into the world of finance not particularly because it was the obvious path, but because she discovered that it combines many of the things she enjoys: understanding businesses, analysing complex problems, connecting different perspectives, and seeing how decisions shape the world around us. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance at KU Leuven. Outside of her studies, she enjoys long-distance running and getting lost in a good history book: two interests that reflect her patience, curiosity, and appreciation for the bigger picture.
Sibe Schoonvliet - Treasury
Sibe studies Financial Engineering at the University of Antwerp and is drawn to M&A, corporate finance and investing. As Member of Treasury at Capitant, he keeps a close eye on the association’s finances and makes sure every event is properly budgeted, enjoying the numbers side and seeing how everything behind the scenes comes together. Sibe is quite the sportsman: outside of Capitant, he trains for IRONMAN triathlons and marathons, cycles on his road bike, hits the gym, and reads a mix of classics and non-fiction to wind down.
Mathias De Peuter - Career
Mathias is a Msc Financial Engineering student with a strong passion for finance, strategy, and entrepreneurship. He is currently serving as Board Member Career at Capitant Antwerp, where he helps promote financial literacy and connect students with the world of finance through the case evenings of both the IB and AM tracks. In addition, he’s a co-founder and board member of a student-led investment group, where he empowers peers to actively engage with financial markets through research, collaboration, and hands-on investing.
Cedric Van Aken - Career
Cedric is a second-year Master’s student in Financial Engineering at the University of Antwerp, with interests in investment banking, trading and technology & analytics. As Board Member of Career at Capitant, he oversees the Investment Banking track and conducts technical interviews with applicants, enjoying how it keeps pushing him to sharpen his own knowledge and connect with inspiring professionals from the industry. Outside of Capitant, you’ll find him reading something worth learning from, listening to music, or enjoying a good glass of wine with friends.
Delphine De Temmerman - Projects
Delphine is a third-year student of Applied Business Economics at the University of Antwerp. Her interests lie in Private Equity, Investment Banking and Asset Management. As Board Member Projects at Capitant, she thrives on the diversity of tasks and the scale of events, especially the teamwork that goes into hosting something truly memorable. Outside of Capitant, she stays active with tennis, hockey, sailing and fitness, and enjoys spending time with friends.
Matthien Cuvelie - Projects
Matthien is a third-year Business Engineering student with a deep-rooted passion for investment banking and M&A. Through his active involvement in projects within Capitant and hands-on venture capital internship experience, he brings a strong commercial and analytical edge to every initiative he tackles. Outside of finance, you will find Matthien on the padel or tennis court, or hitting the gym to stay active.
Arno Verhoeven - Projects
Arno studies Applied Economic Sciences at the University of Antwerp and is drawn to asset management and equity analysis. As Board Member of Projects at Capitant, he takes a practical approach to building events and turning ideas into something truly great, always pushing to leave a real mark. Outside of the finance world, you'll find him on the tennis court, behind the piano, or in the Thai boxing ring.
Loreana Shqepa - Marketing Manager
Loreana studies Digital Business Engineering with a major in Marketing at the University of Antwerp. She has a particular interest in M&A, and as Marketing Manager at Capitant, she dives into the strategy and planning that make events a real success, alongside a team she genuinely loves working with. Outside of Capitant, you’ll find her at the gym, boxing, reading, or catching up with friends over a matcha.
Darya Boudaghi - Marketing
Darya is a third-year Business Engineering student at the University of Antwerp, with a strong interest in venture capital, private equity, and S&T. As part of Capitant's marketing team, she loves the balance between creativity and execution. Her role allows her to unleash her creativity and produce engaging content. Outside of Capitant, she has played the piano since the age of five and enjoys long walks, drawing, reading, and spending time with friends.
Emilie De Beuckeleer - Marketing
Emilie is a Master’s student in Business Economics at the University of Antwerp and has a strong interest in Wealth Management. As Board Member of Marketing at Capitant, she gets to let her creative side shine, something she genuinely enjoys about the role. Outside of her studies and Capitant, she has a real passion for travel that even took her on exchange to Canada and Australia, and she stays active through yoga and gymnastics.
Jules Nuyens - Marketing
Jules is a second-year student in the Professional Bachelor of Accountancy & Taxation at Karel de Grote Hogeschool. His passion for finance centres around investment banking and M&A. As Board Member of Marketing, he gets a front-row seat to every corner of Capitant, since every event and initiative needs a little marketing touch. Outside of Capitant, you'll find Jules on the field hockey pitch, out for a run, or picking up a shift in construction or at an accounting firm.
